What tests and scans are needed before buttock augmentation?

For first-timers, they are unaware of what a buttock augmentation is. This is the main reason why they ask a lot of questions regarding this intervention. This is just normal. One of the frequently asked questions about buttock augmentation is, “What are the tests and scans needed before someone could go through buttock augmentation?”

Some people think that plastic surgery is not a real surgery because they believe that it is free of risks. Plastic surgery is defined as a surgical specialty that involves the restoration, enhancement, reconstruction or alteration of the human body. This means that it involves incisions and the use of anesthesia, which comes with attendant risks common to other surgical interventions. The same holds true for buttock augmentation surgery.

Even if you are interested in the said procedure, still, there are requirements that you need to complete. It is important to determine your candidacy for the operation carefully. Preliminary and full examination of all patients who want to undergo buttock augmentation should be done. There are a number of medical tests that must be done to ensure you are in good physical health to undergo the surgery.

Being healthy does not make you an exception in the pre-operative examinations. In the preliminary examination, your blood pressure will be examined. Since buttock augmentation is usually performed under general anesthesia, you will need blood work, urine sample, cbc and basic metabolic profile and pregnancy tests.

Aside from the preliminary tests, you also need to know that it is critical for your surgeon to know if your heart can handle general anesthesia while undergoing buttock augmentation. Remember, if you are more than 50 years, you will need to go through EKG and stress tests to ascertain if there are any abnormalities in the heart. There may be additional tests that can be done, depending on the surgeon who will perform the procedure.
