Butt augmentation to correct butt asymmetries
When it comes to butt asymmetries, they can be of a genetic cause or resulting after a trauma or accident on the buttocks. There are different types of asymmetries that can be present and different treatment options available to correct them. Sometimes butt asymmetries can also occur after the patient has undergone plastic surgery on the buttocks such as butt implant surgery. In this case, an additional procedure will be required to correct the results of the initial surgery.
The buttock augmentation methods used to correct butt asymmetries are butt implants, fat transfer, or a combination of these two procedures.
When butt implant surgery is recommended as the suitable treatment plan, the plastic surgeon will use implants of different volumes to create a more harmonious and balanced aspect of the buttocks. This is a very delicate procedure to undergo, so it is crucial to make sure that the plastic surgeon you have chosen is highly skilled, experienced and board-certified. The procedure itself can trigger asymmetries if not performed in a right manner or if the patient is not committed to following the recommendation of the plastic surgeon for post-op care.
Not sitting on the buttocks or lying on the back is essential after any type of butt augmentation procedure. Implants can shift and change their position if the patient sits directly on the buttocks before the implants have settled in their pockets. If the patient sits on the butt or lies on the back after fat transfer, the procedure can also result in asymmetries that would require a revision surgery to correct the condition.
When the asymmetries are severe, most plastic surgeons will recommend combining butt implants and fat grafting. Silicone implants are good options for asymmetries associated with smaller or flat buttocks, but also with big differences in the sizes of the two butt cheeks that could have been caused by trauma. However effective implants might be, adding fat to the butt can always improve the aesthetic results. The fat that is transferred to the butt can make the edges of the implants less visible and also correct asymmetries that are located in other areas aside from the upper part of the buttocks. You should know that the implants can only help correct asymmetries that have to do with the projection of the buttocks or the superior part of the buttocks as the implants are inserted in the gluteal muscles that are positioned on the upper part. For asymmetries or imperfections located on the lower part of the buttocks or the sides, it is only the fat grafting method that can provide good and long-lasting results.
