Medication to avoid before butt augmentation surgery
The only safe and efficient method to get a bigger butt nowadays is with the help of plastic surgery. Physical exercises can only do so much for you, and it will require intensive efforts and time. With the help of a butt augmentation procedure, you can practically get the buttocks of your dreams within hours.
Butt augmentation can be performed in two ways: using implants or fat cells that come from other areas of the patient’s body that have an excess of adipose tissue. The procedures follow a different surgical plan and deliver results that can’t be compared. However, there are some things that are the same for both procedures, and one of them is the medication to avoid before undergoing surgery.
The preparation period for butt augmentation often starts a month before the procedure when the patient is advised to stop the administration of birth control medication. Birth control pills put the patient at a higher risk of developing a blood clot during or after the surgery, and this is a complication that can have serious consequences and can even threaten the life of the patient. The condition that occurs as a result of a blood clot is called deep vein thrombosis.
Another type of medication that should be avoided for at least two weeks before butt augmentation is anti-inflammatory medication. Certain types of anti-inflammatory pills like ones containing aspirin have blood thinning properties. This means that there is a high risk of excessive bleeding during or after surgery. This is another serious complication, and both the plastic surgeon and the patient should take all the safety measures to avoid it.
As a general rule, two weeks before the procedure you shouldn’t take any medication or natural supplement unless cleared with the plastic surgeon during the pre-operative consultation. If you need to take a pill during this time, make sure to let the plastic surgeon know beforehand. Depending on the pill and its properties, the plastic surgeon might proceed with the procedure or reschedule it to avoid complications.
While natural supplements are not really considered as medication and many people think of them as completely harmless, certain natural supplements can have anti-coagulant properties as well. This means they could also trigger excessive bleeding during surgery. This is why it is recommended to avoid natural supplements and vitamins or make sure to ask the plastic surgeon before taking them.
If you are under treatment for a chronic condition, you will need to discuss this with the plastic surgeon even during the first meeting. Depending on the medication, you might be asked to stop it or reduce the doses. The plastic surgeon can consult with your other doctor and make a decision about the appropriate course of action for your particular case.
