When not to use fat transfer to the butt

When not to use fat transfer to the butt

Fat transfer is what we call the all-natural method available nowadays for increasing the size of the buttocks. The procedure has numerous benefits that are not only visible on the butt but also affect the overall shape and appearance of the body as liposuction needs to be performed on areas with an excess of fat to collect the fat cells required for the transfer.

Fat grafting can deliver spectacular results even from the first session, provided that the patient is a good candidate. However, sustaining the results can prove to be a little tricky if the patients don’t know all the things required from them.

A question that all patients interested in the procedure should ask is when not to use fat transfer. There are few contraindications to the procedure, most of them that are valid for any type of plastic surgery. Among them are not being in good health and emotional condition, not being able to understand the potential risks and complications, and not being committed to doing your best to sustain the results for as long as possible. However, aside from these, there is another aspect that we should discuss when considering not using fat transfer, and this is when you are constantly dealing with weight fluctuations.

There are patients who struggle to keep a constant weight and are dealing with considerable weight fluctuations year after year. Weight fluctuations can also occur during pregnancy or because of special medication and treatments that patients might be undergoing. In other words, if you know it has been difficult for you to get to a normal weight and sustain it for at least six to eight months, it is not ideal to use fat transfer.

The one thing that can completely ruin the results after the initial period of two months is undergoing weight fluctuations when the fat cells have settled in their new environment. If you put on weight after fat transfer, it doesn’t necessarily mean your butt will get bigger and nicer, as you might not be satisfied with the shape that will develop in your buttocks. You might discover that fat has accumulated in areas of the buttocks where it doesn’t look nice at all and can even distort the shape of the butt. If weight loss occurs after fat transfer, the fat cells transferred there will behave just like the other cells in the body and lose volume. The fat cells transferred to the butt won’t disappear from the area, but they can lose a considerable amount of volume and your butt will look smaller as a result.
